I have been truly blessed with the upbringing that I’ve received. From supportive parents and compassionate siblings to an education that has undoubtedly enabled many parts of who I am today. Growing up in a family of 6, being the only boy within a swarm of sisters meant that I was taught how to run at a very early age, but mostly from my mothers wooden spoon…
The Mad2Run initiative for me is more than merely an audacious stroll across our Country in the name of charity, It is the coming together of a collective voice that believes in educating the young leaders of today in order to challenge and change the South Africa of tomorrow.

Husband of a hot blonde for over 6 years and a father of 2. A little eccentric.
It is an incredible honour and privilege to be included in the team for Mad2run 2016! We have been given the opportunity to Make a Difference for a worthy cause on a great foundation laid by the previous 2 teams and I feel a sense of responsibility to surpass both years in impact and GEES!
I am a member of Mensa with a certified IQ in the 99.7th percentile. I was a beneficiary of scholarships through High School, and such financial aid had a massive influence on who I am today. For this reason I am passionate about the cause of Mad2run and passing on the same gift I received to raise the level of tomorrow’s potential leaders and broaden their horizons.
I’ve been an about-average (not brilliant) sportsman so far in life, having done 4 Dusi’s as a teenager, a few road races here and there and more recently some trail running. Completing the epic trek to the Mother City will definitely be my greatest sporting acheivement! I’ve set a personal goal of a marathon (42.2 km) a day for Mad2run 2016, with Shaun Raaff (aka Big Boss) offering to eat his Two Oceans socks if I pull it off! Looking forward to making friends along the journey, being MAD for a cause and most importantly serving the vision of Mad2Run!
