Profession: Life Enthusiast
DOB: 11 June 1989
Long story short: born in Cape Town, high school in Pretoria, university in Cape Town and living in Johannesburg now. In between that time I have been fortunate to travel and live in places like America, the Thailand and New Zealand.
Will try most things once before deciding whether I like them. Always enjoyed team sports growing up and considered running to be a necessary evil for fitness. Once I left the team sport environment, I began to dabble in triathlons and half marathons. Have done a couple of these events and realised that almost anyone is capable of participating, they just need to stop talking or thinking about it and do it. It may take 1 hour or 10 hours but they can do it. And that is why I am taking part in MAD2Run 2016, nothing is impossible.
To me, education is one of the most critical aspects for our country’s future. It brings, amongst many things, the ability to understand, debate and come up with solutions to problems which seemingly cannot be solved. Education is an investment for South Africa, one that I am grateful to be involved with. If running with the MAD crew results in at least one person having access to education that he or she wouldn’t have had before, then this adventure is a success.
