Stephane Pienaar is a Grade 12 learner at Bishops Diocesan College. He is an oarsman and was selected for the Junior South African rowing team in 2016 to compete at World Championships in Rotterdam.

For the past 6 weeks, he has embarked on a journey of relentless training with one goal in mind: to break the world record in a ultra-endurance 24-hour rowing event. The current record stands at 265.494 km’s in a 24-hour time frame.

His MAD2Row journey is in support of Make A Difference Leadership Foundation – his goal is to raise R1.5 million to support one young leader with a world-class education, leadership development opportunities, mentorship and support from high school to a tertiary level through the Make A Difference Leadership Foundation Scholarship Programme.

Mr Mandela said: “Education is the most powerful weapon to change the world”. There are many young leaders out there that cannot afford a quality education – support Stephane to change that.
