Moeketsi Takes on the MAD UK Golf Classic


Supported by the MAD Leadership Foundation, Moeketsi reflects on his journey during the MAD UK Golf Classic. For him, this trip was not just a travel experience but a significant moment in his personal and professional growth. As a keynote speaker, he had the chance to inspire others while sharing his story.

In the UK, Moeketsi immersed himself in London’s vibrant culture. “The transport system was impressive. It helped me explore iconic sites, beautiful gardens, and diverse neighbourhoods,” he explains. Every experience, from visiting landmarks to walking Portobello Road with Francois Pienaar, was enriching. “Hearing Francois’s captivating stories highlighted the warmth of the MAD community and our collective impact.”

The trip also offered professional opportunities. Moeketsi toured Investec London with his mentor Shaun, learning about global financial services. “Seeing the fast-paced world of trading was inspiring and expanded my understanding of what is possible.”

As a keynote speaker, he was moved by attendees’ responses. “Hearing their stories of resilience left a strong impression on me. It was an honour to share my journey at this meaningful event.”

For Moeketsi, the experience was about growth, connection, and inspiration, reminding him of the resilience fostered by the MAD Leadership Foundation.

David’s Journey with the MAD Leadership Foundation


David’s journey with the MAD Leadership Foundation started in 2010 when he was a student. Now a senior actuary at Gen Re, he provides innovative solutions to the research and analytics team.

David credits MAD for giving him the confidence to lead and make a difference beyond his career. He now mentors others, lectures for the Actuarial Society of South Africa, and supervises research at the University of Cape Town.
